Lasers Defeat Arrowhead 1-0 on Community & Youth Night! When the KM cheer squad greets fans before the game, Captain Laser throws out the first pitch, and Jr Lasers are on the field for the National Anthem, you know it will be a great night! And it was just that for the KM Community! Kaiden Ascher (‘24) was dominant on the mound, throwing a complete game four-hit shutout to lead the Lasers to victory over Arrowhead on Monday night. Ascher struck out five and walked only one to earn the win. JJ Wolbert (‘24) scored the game's only run in the third inning on a base hit by Scott Brown (‘24).  Thank you to all the community members and youth players who came out to WBC Park to support KM. Because of generous donations made by local businesses, KM Baseball raised nearly $1000 for the program.  Lasers are back in action today against Mukwonago. Game time is 4:30 PM at Wales Community Park.

SOFTBALL FACILITY DEDICATION!!! We recently held a facility dedication for Adonis Roofing, our naming sponsor at the softball complex. Mike, Alecia, Addy and Molly Sparks were in attendance. Addy got the honor of throwing out the first pitch. She did it in true softball form, which was brave as a first-timer! Addy got it all of the way to the plate, kicking off a great game against CMS. Thank you to all of our sponsors for your commitment of time, resources, and support. You are a valuable part of our KM Community!!

KMMS STEM GREATEST HITS!!! Many of these projects were featured at the KMMS Showcase, which will be the highlight of tomorrow's Laser Focused newsletter and Capturing KM video. These amazing videos came from Mr. Gutbrod's class and detail a sampling of the work his students have completed recently! Aidan's baseball adirondack chair which he designed and built to give to his baseball coach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqunVCE-FL8. Addie's volleyball setting target w/ special guest appearance by Mr. Korb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ifzn_81qXs. Bobby's skateboard ramp which for showcase night he had an edited sizzle reel of him using: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVQZ0QwZwt4. Kristen's ottoman with hidden compartment so she can hide candy from her siblings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0cND2KI5pk. Kaliana's infinity mirror which had an incredibly detailed interior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-ym6w26bpw. Larson and Addison's upscaled frog themed Connect Four board they made for Dousman Elementary which required an exceptional amount of math and precision: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7oEdym94-g. "Soccer for Dummies", an idea Drew, Larson, Nolan, and myself created as a team together after school. The idea was showcased at the Midwest Gaming Classic convention in Milwaukee which had an attendance of 20,000 people and we won an award. RAKU FIRING AT KMHS!!! This event was such a fun, creative way to spend a beautiful spring day! Students from Mrs. Prokop's ceramics classes gathered in the parking lot to fire their pottery using the ancient Japanese style of raku. The pieces are fired at a low temperature outdoors, then transferred to a closed metal container containing paper or sawdust. These materials ignite and create soot which modifies the glaze and creates rich, dark deposits. Stay tuned for an upcoming Capturing KM on this unique event!
